ABOUT JON SALTZMAN, ESQ

Jon Saltzman is the founding partner of the law firm of Saltzman and Gordon in Allentown, PA. The firm specializes in family law, limiting their practice to divorce, custody, and child and spousal support. Jon opened the firm in 1985; today he is semi-retired and is of-counsel to the firm. He is admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court of PA, The Federal District Courts for the Eastern District of  PA, and the Northern District of CA. He is also admitted to the 3rd and 9th Federal Circuit Courts of Appeal.

In retirement, Jon opened Jon’s Bridal, which was the largest bridal store in Florida. When asked about the reason for the switch, he said, “I was ready to see women who walked in the door happy for a change.”

Jon had been married for 29 years when he and his wife Robin mutually decided to divorce. Owning businesses and real estate, the marital assets were somewhat complex. After her initial consultation with a divorce lawyer, Robin announced to Jon, “I’ve decided who I want to be my divorce lawyer…you.” She added, “I just know you, and, if I hire anyone else, you will eat them alive. I also know that, if you are my lawyer, you will be fair and bend over backwards to take care of me [your client], and I will come out just fine.” Jon agreed, prepared a property settlement agreement, and insisted that Robin take it to an independent divorce lawyer before signing it. She did and reported back that her lawyer advised her that the agreement was “more than fair.” Jon and Robin remain friends today.
